As a country girl, I fortunately lived across the road from a golf course. Little did I know that the course was a private country club. Although beyond the financial means of my parents, they supported of my efforts. By allowing me to work in the golf shop, cleaning clubs, I had practice and playing opportunities. I began becoming a student of the game and became passionate about golf. I attended an university in my community before Title 9. No collegiate golf experience, but the desire to teach became my focus. I graduated with a Master's in education and taught high school social studies along with coaching the girls golf team. Some 25 years later, I began my journey into a second career with the LPGA teaching division. When I earned Class A membership, I became a national evaluator, mentoring other women to be successful teachers. Presently, I teach men and women of all abilities and ages plus volunteering my expertise to Special Olympians and youth in the First Tee.
