  • Class A LPGA Professional

Ashaunta Epps is the CEO and Founder of A Perfect Swing, Inc. whose mission is to help individuals use golf as a networking tool to advance in their career. She's also a Golf Teaching Professional (Class A Member) of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). She currently works as an IT Service Management Operations Engineer for Microsoft Corporation. Using strategic personal brand management, she’s established A Perfect Swing as a footprint in the golf and networking arena.

Ashaunta is the Director of Golf for the A Perfect Swing Golf Association. She serves as the LPGA's SouthEast Section Secretary. She's also an Instructor for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Clinics, a series of one-day golf clinics led by 27-time LPGA Tour Champion, Jane Blalock. She's also an Instructor for the LPGA Leadership Academy, the LPGA Golf Academy, and a LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Site Director.

Ashaunta is an African American Golfers Hall of Fame Inductee and has been recognized nationally as an outstanding Leader in Golf by the African American Golfers’ Digest. She’s won countless local and national golf competitions. She took longest drive and low gross honors in the Black Enterprise Golf and Tennis Challenge two years in a row at PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Ashaunta has worked in corporate America as an IT Operations Engineer for many years. During this time, she noticed that she was missing out on crucial business conversations that her peers had when they went out to play golf. Once she began to play the sport, she also noticed that it afforded her an opportunity to meet major stakeholders in various businesses and professional organizations. She quickly realized that this was a best kept secret to networking that every person that wanted to be successful should include themselves, thus the objective of A Perfect Swing, Inc. was developed. When it comes to networking while playing golf, YOUR swing IS the perfect swing. The mere fact that you are on the course and in the conversation is the true success factor.

A Perfect Swing’s motto is “Improving your success in life by improving your backswing”. Just as the backswing in golf is key to hitting the ball successfully, so is your backswing of life, for achieving your goals. Many people overlook the importance of golf as a networking tool due to the fear of the unknown of the game itself. Unfortunately, just deciding to play a game of golf and then booking a tee time is not enough. There are several rules regarding dress, etiquette, and equipment that you need to know before playing on a course. In partnership with the LPGA and its Golf 101 program, A Perfect Swing is helping accomplish one of its most important goals, which is to make individuals comfortable on the golf course.

Ashaunta is also the Chief Operating Officer for The Coalition for Teens Helping Teens and Vice President for Polished Pearls Leadership Seminars for Teen Girls. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Healing Vine Harbor, Inc. She’s a member of the United States Golf Association. She’s a member of the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Charlotte Chapter of National Black Master of Business Administration Association, Women in Technology International (WITI), and Home and Foreign Mission Development Center (Kingstree, SC). She is dedicated to giving back to her community through the sponsorship of youth golf days, Back-to-School supplies drives, mentoring high school athletes, tutoring, and serving in various community service projects.
