Teaching Philosophy: To keep it simple and to fix the cause of the student's undesired ball flight.
A successful lesson is accomplished when I communicate effectively to the student the why of their undesired ball flight, take the abundant mental list/ mechanical thoughts out of the student's mind so that they may swing the club freely and to provide them with sound fundamentals and one swing thought that will promote their desired results. Give them feedback to develop the correct feel.
Ultimately, the goal is to improve their game so they will enjoy playing.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Janice’s love for the game of golf began at a young age while playing golf with her father at Meadowbrook Country Club. She played on the high school boys team at Hale High School, went on to play collegiate golf at Oklahoma State University; winning the Big Eight Championship and the Guadalajara Collegiate Invitational.
Following graduation in 1985, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration she pursued her dream of playing professional golf. She won twice on the Futures Mini Tour followed by a 12 year tenure on the LPGA Tour. During winter breaks on the tour, she worked at Page Belcher and Mohawk Park Golf Course as an Assistant PGA Professional.
After retirement from the LPGA in 1998, her focus turned to teaching golf on a full time basis. She was under the guidance of Jack Higgins, teaching legend and PGA lifetime Member, who welcomed her on his teaching staff at Broken Arrow Golf School. She continued teaching at Broken Arrow Golf School and playing professional golf on a part time basis 1998-2001 when the First Tee of Tulsa Program Director job opportunity was offered to her. She currently serves as Executive Director/ Lead Instructor at the First Tee of Tulsa and teaches individual and group lessons for advanced and beginner level students.
